Equipment Donations
Do you have equipment that you no longer need ?
As hams, we collect a lot of equipment over the years. When you buy that new HF rig that you've drooled over from the advertisments in QST and are not using your old HF rig, consider making a donation of it to OVARC.

Did a relative, friend or neighbor get a piece of equipment that they don't know what to do with?
As Hams we've all been known someone with these questions about a piece of electronic equipment that someone has. Suggest to them that they could make a donation of it to OVARC.

Even if you do not want to donate...
The equipment can be administered using one or more alternate methods.
-
Sold on E-Bay, EHAM, QRZ, or other similar Internet-based organization
-
Sold to club members at a silent auction at one of the monthly meetings
-
Sold at the next Hamfest (November)
-
Sold by consignment at the nearest amateur radio store (Phoenix)
-
Offered for sale to members of other Tucson area amateur radio clubs
Different pieces of equipment could be sold using different methods. For instance, antennas are best sold locally because they are often bulky and buyers usually want to see them up close. Near-new high-end transceivers are best sold through amateur radio oriented websites such as EHAM or QRZ.

Services are generally Free
OVARC does not charge any fees for these services described herein, but may negotiate a good faith fee for a portion of the proceeds if not donated directly to OVARC.
Benefits offered to all
OVARC offers these services as a public service to the general ham community.

Antenna Towers
OVARC members cannot climb any antenna towers. Instead, OVARC will recommend a local company that has properly trained professional tower climbers along with appropriate insurance. Once the antennas are down, OVARC can sell or dispose of the antennas and towers. There is a market for used towers, just as there is for used equipment.
