License Classes/Testing

License Classes

 

The club offers Technician (entry level) and General (second level) license classes from time to time based on the number of requests. These classes teach the material needed to pass the license exam.


Technician classes run one night per week for 6 weeks. The class fee is $25.


General classes run one night per week for 9 weeks. The class fee is $35.


License study guides cost between $25 and $35.


Students should plan to study at least 5 hours per week outside of class hours. At the end of the class, a Federal Communications Commission test session will be offered for a fee of $15.


There are two class locations used depending on availability:

  • Marana Community Center on West Ina Road (near I-10).

  • Ascension Lutheran Church on West Magee Road (near North La Canada Drive).

Include:

(1) Your name and e-Mail address
(2) The type of class in which you are interested (Technician or General)

Monthly Amateur Radio License Testing

 

When:

First Saturday of every month starting promptly at 10:30 am.

The November test will be held at the OVARC Hamfest, with the test starting at 10:00 a.m.

Test applicants who are more than 15 minutes late will not be seated for the test.

Cost: The ARRL testing fee is $15.00. Please bring exact change. Make checks payable to "ARRL"
